Brand stories in Asia-Pacific
Asia-Pacific is an exciting region for brand work. Ever professional and innovative, businesses in this region are using brand to supplement the rapid growth of the emerging market.
Last year’s Transform Awards Asia-Pacific gold winners, recognised at a ceremony held in Hong Kong, included Nomura Group – a Japanese financial company – with Living Group, MerchantCantos for its work with Hong Kong Ballet and Futurebrand for its work with Hoau – the Chinese subsidiary of delivery service provider TNT.
International brands who won gold at the awards in 2015 included HSBC, Blackstone and Pizza Hut, which also won the Grand Prix alongside branding agency Brand Union. Their project showed a sophisticated understanding of the way that the Pizza Hut brand is experienced by its customers. A unique pizza box design enabled the empty box to be transformed into a projector, thereby drawing on the popular tradition of a night in with pizza and a movie. Local artist designs adorned the boxes, giving the project a distinctly local feel.
The Transform Awards Asia-Pacific 2016 has opened for entries. The programme welcomes brand development work from every sector and categories include, ‘Best rebrand of a digital property’, ‘Best brand consolidation’, ‘Best brand development project to reflect changed mission/values/positioning’ and ‘Best corporate rebrand following a merger or acquisition’. The awards specifically recognise organisations who are doing innovative and outstanding work in the brand strategy and brand identity space, and who are seeing improved consumer engagement and brand loyalty as a result.
