Corporate Content Awards 2018 winners announced

CCA 2018 news.jpg

Held at the prestigious Victory Services Club in Marble Arch, last night’s inaugural Corporate Content Awards captured the exemplary efforts at the core of corporate storytelling. Yet from creativity-driven campaigns to narrative building, the innovative use of content served as the locus for the evening’s variety. This year’s winners list recaps the cross-sector quality on offer.

Hosted by standup comedian, Cally Beaton, whose own experience working in the media industry facilitated a welcomed charm as the evening’s compere, four tiers of awards; gold, silver, bronze and highly commended were handed out across 28 categories. The final two prizes recognised, ‘Best corporate storyteller,’ and ‘The Grand Prix.’

Yet the awards wider category breakdown gives further currency to the growing multiplicity of content in business. As audiences diversify and platforms widen, targeting content to align with investors, employees, and customers must now be executed in creative and compelling ways. Across the gamut of the evening’s winners, last night’s winners showcased the myriad possibilities in which content can be portrayed.

Rachel Cooper, awards judge and director of global content strategy and editorial at GSK, says, “There was an impressive variety of award entries, which reflected the full spectrum of corporate content. Some of the more innovative approaches were evident in employee engagement, with more creative storytelling being used within internal communications. What stood out to me was the increasing use of personal stories, which help put a human face on an organisation. It was also good to see a number of organisations putting a real effort into measuring the impact and outcomes of their content.”

The Corporate Content Awards also welcomed sponsorship from the likes of Rocksalt Copy Creatives, Vebu, Gorilla Gorilla, Hill + Knowlton Strategies and UGC Agency, with support from Annual Report Creatives, Boost Marketing and CommsChat.

Andrew Thomas, publishing editor of Communicate magazine and founder of the Corporate Content Awards, says, “the inaugural Corporate Content Awards has been a fantastic celebration of corporate story telling. It’s been a celebration of the stories companies have told, of the ways they’ve told them, and the methods they’ve used to get their audience’s attention. The first year of the Corporate Content Awards has been a massive success, and those who won certainly have much to be proud of.”
