Ten years ago, Communicate magazine wanted to determine who the set the standard for rebranding and brand development. Covering that topic each month in the magazine, Communicate needed a benchmark. The Transform Awards was born. Now, a decade later, and under the banner of its eponymous magazine, Transform, the Transform Awards Europe is about to celebrate excellence in rebranding and brand development for the 10th time.

Years ago, organisations like Action for Children, Directgov, Akzo Nobel and the Co-operative were recognised for their achievements in rebranding and brand development. Ten years later, the awards still celebrates the brand development efforts of organisations of all size and sector – albeit in more impressive settings than a room above a pub, where the inaugural Transform Awards took place. The 2019 Transform Awards Europe – to be celebrated in a spring 2019 –  is now open for entries.

Publisher of Transform magazine, Andrew Thomas, says, “It has been an honour organising the Transform Awards for 10 years. The brand transformations we have witnessed have been remarkable, and we have seen that companies that take their brand strategy and design seriously, take their businesses seriously. Over the past 10 years, we have repeatedly seen the winners at the Transform Awards outperform their peers, across a variety of metrics.”

With winners from across the spectrum of sectors – from manufacturing to startups – previous recipients of Transform Awards represent the best in class in various areas of rebranding and brand development. This year’s categories feature the traditional visual identity categories as well as categories like ‘Best use of copy style/tone of voice,’ ‘Best place or nation brand’ and ‘Best brand experience.’ Those who make the shortlist will have been judged by a panel of experts hailing from some of the biggest brands in Europe, in addition to agency leaders who won the premier awards in 2018.

The judging process ensures each brand is considered in terms of the rebrand’s objectives, strategy and process, creative development and results. Rigorous judging ensures the Transform Awards sets the true benchmark for excellence in rebranding and brand development. Last year’s winner’s book, exploring the projects selected by judges to take home Transform awards can be found here.
