Transform to recognise Young Contenders in European brand industry for second year

The branding world is brimming with excellent young talent. Transform's Young Contenders recognises those making an outstanding contribution to the industry. Identifying the next generation of strategic, creative and innovative brand specialists, the awards will celebrate those who are shaping the branding industry of tomorrow.

Now in its second year, the awards programme identifies and honours the young leaders in the European branding industry across the strategic and creative disciplines. Last year’s event recognised 14 Young Contenders who are making a considerable impact on the way their companies or agencies approach brand development.

Last year’s judging panel – which was comprised of creative directors, managing directors and agency leaders from the likes of Superunion, Siegel+Gale and Pentagram – recognised two ‘Young Contenders of the Year.’ Emma Grencis, designer at Baxter & Bailey was the creative winner and Louise Branth, a consultant at Interbrand, was the year’s strategic winner.

Twelve further Young Contenders were recognised, with two receiving ‘distinction’ marks from the judges. The full list of winners can be found here.

"The great thing about the Young Contenders programme is that it looks at both sides of the branding equation and recognises both creative and strategic thinking. This is so important to the future of the industry and marks the difference between graphic design and branding as a discipline," says Young Contenders judge and director of brand consultancy Industry, Sholto Lindsay-Smith.

This year, entries are being accepted into the Transform Young Contenders awards until 31 July. All nominees must be aged 30 years or under on 31 December 2019. Nominations can be made by the prospective Young Contender themselves or by a supervisor or colleague. Entries are accepted from organisations or individuals based in European countries only. Each entry will be considered by a judging panel with the winners celebrated at a champagne reception in November. Last year’s celebration was attended by leaders in the brand industry as well as the Young Contenders themselves, making for a fun, memorable event.
