London tops World’s Best Cities list for fourth year running
Resonance Consultancy has announced the world’s 100 top-performing cities in its annual 'World’s Best Cities' report, with London once again claiming the top spot, and New York and Paris in second and third place respectively.
The real estate, tourism and economic development advisory firm analyses the world’s principal cities with populations of one million or more, ranking each using a combination of statistical performance and qualitative evaluations by locals and visitors in 22 areas grouped into six core categories: place, people, product, promotion, programming and prosperity.
Resonance Consultancy president & CEO Chris Fair says, “The World's Best Cities rankings are composed of experiential factors that people consider most important in choosing a city to live and visit, as well as empirical factors that business decision-makers consider important for business or investment.”
Both Los Angeles and Rome moved into the top 10 for the first time, while cities that made their debuts last year kept their ascent going strong. Doha climbed from number 44 to 18 and Osaka went from 67 to 44.
Based on each city's performance in the 22 factors analysed, these are the World's Best Cities for 2020:
- London
- New York
- Paris
- Tokyo
- Moscow
- Dubai
- Singapore
- Barcelona
- Los Angeles
- Rome
