Transform Awards North America has been celebrating the transformative power of branding and rebranding for the past six years. Transform magazine is proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Transform Awards North America, which reflect the agencies exhibiting exemplary work in brand development and the growing importance of brand in strategic corporate communications.

With a gold in ‘Best brand evolution,’ ‘Best visual identity from the engineering and manufacturing sector,’ and ‘Best brand development project to reflect changed mission, values or positioning,’ Assa Abloy-Yale and GW+Co also took home the ‘Grand prix.’ Assa Abloy worked with GW+Co to reinvent the mechanical engineering brand Yale and allow it to compete against the likes of Samsung and Apple. The judged were particularly impressed by the way in which the new identity confronts the digital landscape and paves its way into the future.

The ‘Best overall visual identity’ award was taken home by Move United and Superunion, for their work on creating a revolutionary brand that redefines disability by crafting a confident and passionate identity reflective of Move United’s athletes. The winning point for Move United and Superunion was designing a strong, ownable brand that is distinctive yet still fits seamlessly into the world of sports, clearly communicating its purpose with a single glance.

“This is the sixth year that the Transform Awards North America has celebrated the transformative power of brand strategy and design. Every year it has got bigger, and the work we have celebrated has got better. We’ve seen a challenging year, but the number of entries and especially the calibre of entries has just been fabulous,” says publisher of Transform magazine, Andrew Thomas.

Judges were also impressed by Thrivent and Prophet which took home  a gold in ‘Best visual identity from the financial services sector’ and ‘Best visual property,’ and Dianomi and Living Group which swept up two golds in ‘Best rebrand of a digital property’ and ‘Best visual identity from the technology, media and telecommunications sector.’

Winners were announced last night in a virtual awards event, the first in the awards’ history. The full list of winners is below and you can watch the awards presentation here
