Avantgarde launches ‘Oliography’ website for Spanish olive oil brand

Global brand experience agency, Avantgarde London, launched ‘Oliography’ website for Acesur’s La Española Spanish Olive Oil. The website showcases each individual bottle’s history and production process.

Each bottle will have a necktie containing a QR code of the lot number, which refers to a specific harvesting region, so people can track each bottle’s origin from the farm to the consumer. Those visiting the platform will see the different types of olives, the places they are grown in, the harvesting dates and methods, bottling plants and transport conditions. This will allow them to track every stage of the 150-year-old process and explore the oil's sustainable journey.

“Transparency in its relationship with its consumers is important to the La Española Spanish Olive Oil brand. We wanted to improve the brand’s positioning amongst their competitors and we saw an opportunity to fill a market gap as currently none of La Española’s competitors are transparent about their oil’s origin. We thought this was the perfect way for us to help La Española showcase the quality and provenance of its product, to both existing consumers and a wider audience,” says Alessandro Tafuro, project manager and producer at Avantgarde.

Avantgarde worked with Herdl, a data driven agency, to develop the technology  aspects of the bottles’ QR code, which will be accessible online, via desktop and mobile platforms.
