Designhouse rebrands Irish marquee company

Donohue Banner

Brand and design agency Designhouse partnered with marquee providers Donohue Solutions to update their brand identity in light of Covid-19.

The Designhouse team kept the original wordmark font for continuity, but introduced a new contemporary secondary font, TT Norms, to complement the geometric logo and graphic system. Numbers have been customised with a cut, mirroring the angles of the logo and giving the digits a bespoke personality that supports the overall visual identity, particularly when applied to iconography and infographics. Metallic finishes refresh the existing blue and silver, with copper added to the primary colour palette to represent the new Donohue Commercial sub-brand.

“Our creative challenge was to refresh the existing brand identity, which is already so well established within the events industry in Ireland. The evolved master logo builds on the concept of modular structures with a highly flexible polygon that can be adapted and owned by the two new sub-brands, Donohue Events and Donohue Commercial,” says Peter Dobie, creative director at Designhouse.

The new identity has been applied to vehicle livery, uniforms, marketing collateral and social media. Designhouse also designed Donohue Solutions’ new website.

With their business model changing from being 80% events contracts to 100% commercial, Donohue Solutions wanted to communicate their credentials and capabilities to the commercial and construction market and updated their name and look accordingly, explains Mark Donohue, managing director of Donohue Solutions.

“We are delighted with our confident new name and brand identity which is already supporting our growth as we pivot the business and will continue to support us going forward when we hope to see the hospitality sector bounce back,” Donohue adds.
