Bombay Bramble

Bombay Bramble, a new creative expression from gin brand Bombay Sapphire, recently launched a bold identity and bottle design crafted by drinks design specialist agency Knockout. Bombay Bramble blends Bombay’s vapour distilled London Dry Gin with a rich fruit infusion made from freshly harvested blackberries and raspberries.

Flavour is a key factor in the increasing popularity of gin. Bombay Bramble answers this rising demand with a significantly more refined, sophisticated spirit. The berry bramble etched in rose gold connotes the flavour profile and creates a delicate frame that stands out on the front of the bottle. Clear labels are used to celebrate the gin’s ruby rich colour and add a jewel-like quality that is not entirely unfamiliar to the portfolio. The final touch is a deep red cap off-set by the scarlet ink on the neck label, a two-tone duality that signifies the blend of blackberry and raspberry. Knockout also supported in the creation of a limited artist edition as part of the Bombay Bramble Ripe For Discovery campaign.

“We were tasked to effectively create a new sub-brand, adding new dimension to the Bombay portfolio with a flavoured gin that challenges all things pink. The design solution puts a twist on the existing architecture, reflecting Bombay Sapphire’s renowned expertise whilst conveying the new proposition with a bit of intrigue and allure,” says Dominic Burke, founder at Knockout.”

Cow and Gate

Conran Design Group designed Cow & Gate’s Simply A2 products, a unique range of formula milks made with milk sourced from cows that naturally produce A2 protein. The key to the design solution was to find a balance between the need of the brand’s loyalists and appealing to the next generation of British parents. The Simply A2 range needed to work alongside Cow & Gate’s core range, but with enough differentiation to highlight the uniqueness of Simply A2. The design is simple, pure and fun to reflect Cow & Gate’s premium sub-range offer. The endorsement logo was modernised with a natural and premium feel by combining pastel colours, a water-coloured illustrated brand world and animal characters. The unique set of animal characters play an active role on the pack and express the relevance of the product to the baby’s life-stage.

“The team at Conran Design Group brought the perfect balance of strategic input and quality design and the result is a beautiful and distinctive sub-brand identity which re-energises the Cow & Gate brand and got us to exactly where we need to be,” says Stephanie Dawson, senior brand manager at Cow & Gate.

Jet IT

Australian-based IT specialists EFEX worked with brand consultancy StartsWithA for the launch of their new service offering, the Jet IT. EFEX recognised the opportunity to provide a low cost, low stress and tailored service to the small to medium business audience. StartsWithA combined market research and strategic workshops to develop the brand architecture, brand voice and visual identity which was rolled out across all brand launch materials. Their visuals consist of a bold colour palette of orange and reds, upbeat icons and fonts with a hint of ‘geek chic.’

“We delved into the mindset of the small business owner and operator to understand their pain points and frustrations with technology. Ultimately, they just want everything to work and not have to think about IT. From an executional point of view, our role was to leverage the brand equity of EFEX whilst positioning the new offering distinctly and uniquely enough that customers would understand which brand best suited their needs.” Alex Marshall, head of creative & strategy.
