Singapore named as home for Transform Awards Asia 2022
Transform magazine has confirmed that its Asia awards programme, which celebrates the transformative power of brand strategy and design in the region, is set to be hosted in Singapore later this year. The decision was greatly impacted by the continuation of Covid-19 restrictions across China.
Transform Awards Asia has had an exciting and versatile history during its near decade-long adventure, initially being hosted in the bustling and vibrant centre of Hong Kong before moving to Shanghai in 2019. Hosting the awards programme in mainland China underpinned the growth of innovative and transformative branding projects from the region.
While the 2020 and 2021 Transform Awards Asia were hosted as a virtual awards event due to Covid-19 and lockdowns, the same high quality of branding work, which had characterised the awards programme since 2014, still shone through. Much the same is expected when the awards programme moves to Singapore later this year.
With the city of Shanghai having been placed under another strict lockdown within the previous month, the uncertainty of when normalcy will resume in the region has left Transform with no other choice but to find a new home for the 2022 awards programme.
Standard Chartered and Lippincott’s project was awarded last year’s Grand prix for its revitalising redesign of the multinational banking and financial services firm. Adding flexibility to the 160 plus year-old brand, one judge described the work as “a thoughtful, elegant brand evolution with mature design subtlety that truly has more than meets the eye.”
The best of branding projects in the region, just like this one, are now set to be recognised and celebrated in Singapore on 21 November at the Transform Awards Asia 2022. The venue will be announced in the coming months.
