The New-York Historical Society Museum & Library, founded in 1804, has played an important role in preserving, collecting and studying the country’s foundational documents and artifacts. However, its confusing name caused many to believe the organisation is a closed society, so it turned to Lippincott to remedy this. The global creative consultancy renamed it ‘The New York Historical’, and crafted a visual identity aimed at fostering dialogue between different ideas, eras, and individuals.
