Simon Barrow
Creator of the employer brand
Simon created the Employer Brand approach to people management and believes that the deep engagement of an organisation’s leadership is critical to its success.
He created this concept when, after being a Brand Manager on Knorr and later Colgate, he became a line manager and saw that the management of employees needed the same understanding, innovation, measurement, coherence and discipline of that approach.
He is a global speaker on the EB (now a subject with over 3.4m Google results). He has worked on 41 Merger & Acquisition transactions where this thinking is critical to performance.
He is joint author of two business books – The Employer Brand - bringing the best of brand management to people at work (Wiley 2005) and Employee Communications in Mergers and Acquisitions – the soft stuff is the hard bit (Gower 2009). His book of poems about management, Humanity at Work, will be published shortly.
